Test the Based app

Early test build for Android and iPhone. Things will break. Tell us when they do.

Download for Android Older phone (32-bit)? Use this one

Install it

  1. Tap Download for Android.
  2. Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps.
  3. Tap Install, then open Based and log in with your email.

Getting "App not installed" on an update? Uninstall the old Based test app first, then install again.

On iPhone

There's no App Store version yet. Put Based on your home screen instead. It opens full screen with its own icon, like an app.

  1. Open based-social.com/app in Safari (not Chrome or another browser).
  2. Tap Share (the square with an arrow). On newer iPhones, tap ••• first, then Share.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open Based from your home screen and log in with your email.

It updates by itself, so there's nothing to reinstall. Notifications don't work on iPhone yet, so check in on your matches.
